About
Our Fabrics
🌿 The main benefit of organic materials is that the crops aren't treated with pesticides, insecticides, herbicides and GMOs. These toxins are harmful for farmers and workers, whole wildlife ecosystems and even us, the consumer.
🌈 Our organic fabrics are dyed on the same island where the dye plants are grown and produce lovely rich colors that celebrate local craft and avoid the more harmful effects of synthetic dyes on our health and waste water.
Our natural dyes derived from Indian almond leaf, mango leaf, coconut husk, indigo (strobilantes cusia) and secang bark also tell a story of where the color came from...the island of Bali, in Indonesia.
Our Approach
👥 We prioritized fair pay and good work conditions in our search for a small Indonesian factory operation. What we ended up with was a group of wonderful artisan craftswomen who are paid living wages and enjoy flexible work hours. Located in Denpasar, Bali, they specialize in working with organic fabrics and materials.
🐎 Our dye house is just a hop, skip and a jump away on the other side of the island in Buleleng. They stand firmly for creative craftsmanship, and working with local flora to create rich plant-based dyes. The dedication to their craft is unmatched.
🌎 As we grow we are excited to continue to research and implement more sustainable production methods that we can scale, reduce resource usage, and reduce wastage with.
